Bullet For A Broken Heart Lyrics

I caught my woman with him
He’s a judge from the city
I’ll trade a bullet for a broken heart
I chased him on up the road
And when he begged me for mercy
I’ll trade a bullet for a broken heart

My love, she was a stillborn
My love, dead to me from the start
I know she’ll never love me again
But I’ll trade a bullet for a broken heart

I saw my face on a sign
I saw my name in the papers
I’ve got to run until my legs go cold
County dug me a grave
But they ain’t never gonna catch me
I’ve got to run until my legs go cold

My love, she was a stillborn
My love, dead to me all along
I know these eyes will never see her again
I’ve got to run until my legs go cold

Got the law on my back
But I ain’t going to the jailhouse
Cold mountain river gonna take me home
I can outrun a man
but I ain’t faster than a bloodhound
Cold mountain river gonna take me home

Well they followed my scent
To the top of the hillside
Cold mountain river gonna take me home
I never knew how to swim
Now there’s no time to learn it
Cold mountain river gonna take me home

My love, she’s resting quietly
My love, dead to me all along
I know she’s never gonna touch him again
Cold mountain river gonna take me home

Old-time music is a genre of North American folk music, with roots in the folk music of many countries, including England, Scotland, Ireland and countries in Africa. It developed along with various North American folk dances, such as square dance, buck dance, and clogging. The genre also encompasses ballads and other types of folk songs. It is played on acoustic instruments, generally centering on a combination of fiddle and plucked string instruments (most often the guitar and banjo). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old-time_music
