New Single “The Proof” to be released

artworks-000033623293-tce98m-t200x200On November 20, “The Proof” will be available for digital download and streaming. “The Proof” picks up where “Bullet for a Broken Heart” left off, mixing atmospheric folk music with the dual attack of Hodges’ smoky voice and frenetic fretwork. Dark, twangy and lively, it’s the story of a wanted man who runs from the law, only to find that “you can’t escape the hangman’s noose.” Rumspringa, featuring “The Proof” and other original songs, will be released in early 2013.

The track features a guest vocalist, Streamsound recording artist, Jaida Dreyer. It was also featured on the most recent Twang Nation podcast alongside several other Shoals artists including: The Pollies, Jason Isbell and Doc Dailey. To hear Jaida Dreyer check out her website at www.jaidadreyer.com

Dillon Hodges Kickstarter launch and music video release will take place on March 20th at Coldwater Books in Tuscumbia, AL.  Hodges will perform with Lee Taylor and the Bluebirds. The event is from 5-8pm and will feature the premier screening of Hodges new music video for his single “Bullet for a Broken Heart.”

Kickstarter is a way people can be apart of producing the album introducing new audiences to his blend of pop, folk, and bluegrass. Depending on the pledge amount different rewards can be earned.  $25 gets you a signed poster. $50 gets you a T-shirt. For those who want to invest more rewards such as a signed ukulele, private concert, and producer credit on the album. If you really want to get involved you can even be featured on a song for a pledge of $5000.

Hodges’ hopes to fund his debut album Rumspringa and release it by the end of the year.

Featuring James Gregory

James Gregory is a respected Nashville musician, writer, and producer.  He has been collaborating with Dillon Hodges for the past year. When asked about working with James, Dillon said,

“James and I have a great creative chemistry. He brings order to chaos and harmony to discord.”

In addition to working with newcomers like Dillon, James has a long and impressive list of artists with whom he has worked, such as Brad Paisley, Michael W. Smith, and Natalie Imbruglia. When asked about working with Dillon Hodges, James replied,

“Dillon has a completely natural and unaffected style of lyrical character writing, and a near-virtuosic level of instrumental prowess. To find either of these qualities alone in an artist is appreciable; to find both qualities together–and with a voice already beyond his twenty-one years–is exceptional.”

James produced Dillon’s new single release “Bullet for a Broken Heart” and “Feel Good Inc.”  Although Dillon’s voice and musicianship are unique, James Gregory has left an impression on Hodges’ work.
